The Spectator
The Spectator is PennWest Edinboro's campus newspaper published online by students under the direction of a faculty adviser. The Spectator started in 1935, but was not the first Edinboro student newspaper - the Normal News was printed in 1865. Through the years, The Spectator has been given opportunities to cover famous people such as President William Howard Taft in 1912 poet Robert Frost in 1940.
Through November, PennWest will host a contest to encourage people to grow facial hair in support of raising awareness about men's physical and mental health.
Destinations include Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Granada, Seville, and Madrid, offering students unique insights into Spain’s historical influences and present-day traditions.
Live art modeling in PennWest drawing classes allow students to have first-hand experience in drawing the human form and offers opportunities to make some money.
PennWest’s Sport Management program is partnering with the Pittsburgh Penguins for "PennWest Night" on Nov. 19 at PPG Paints Arena to support cancer awareness. Students, alumni, and staff can purchase discounted game tickets for this important cause.
Ghost Kitchen, located in PennWest Edinboro's Pogue Student Center, now requires students to use Grubhub to order food. Students cite inconvenience, security concerns, and a loss of dining options as major drawbacks to the new system.
PennWest University has announced the details of its 2025 Study Abroad program in France, a two-week immersive experience that offers students the chance to explore international business and environmental sustainability. Set to take place in late July and early August, the program is open to students of all majors and is designed to offer both academic and personal growth opportunities.
Edinboro’s campus specifically provides ample opportunities for its students studying in the art department, and one such opportunity is right around the corner: the Bates Gallery student shows. In early November, posters and emails will be sent out containing all the information students will need to apply to have their own show in the Bates Gallery.
