Penn West students are now able to earn undergraduate elective credits that also count toward a Master’s degree in exercise science.
In a press release, Dr. Barry E. McGlumphy, coordinator of the exercise science graduate program, said the accelerated online Master’s degree program is designed to serve students who are passionate about fitness and health, but are looking for flexible learning options. This program enables current undergraduate students in any major at PennWest to take graduate-level Exercise Science courses during their junior and senior years. The earned credits can be applied to both their undergraduate electives and the master’s degree.
The online program, which is nationally recognized for its comprehensive and high-quality curriculum, provides specialized concentrations such as Sport Performance Training, Nutrition, Rehabilitation Science, Wellness and Fitness, and Sport Psychology. Dual concentration is an option for students to further their expertise in the discipline.
The program not only accelerates the path to a graduate degree, potentially within one year, but also connects students to a national network of professionals in exercise science, sport performance, and health promotion. As the program is completely online, students can balance academic responsibilities with other obligations.
For further details on how to enroll in the accelerated program, interested students are encouraged to visit the PennWest University Exercise Science YouTube channel or contact Dr. McGlumphy at mcglumphy@pennwest.edu.
